The International Diabetes Federation (IDF) is a non-governmental organization in official relations with the World Health Organization and the Pan American Health Organization. The mission of the IDF is to promote diabetes care, prevention and a cure worldwide. Since we first took up the diabetes cause in 1950, we have evolved into an umbrella organization of currently 197 member associations in 157 countries.

The IDF organizes the World Diabetes Congress rotating worldwide between the seven regions of IDF. Traditionally, the congress attracts 10,000 to 12,000 participants (healthcare professionals, industry representatives and people with and affected by diabetes) from all over the world.

In 2004 IDF took ownership of its congresses and created its own Congress Team based at its central office in Brussels. The Congress Team is responsible for the practical organization of the congress including the registrations, abstract submission and handling, the management of exhibition and sponsors, as well as promotion and publicity.

There are currently no vacancies in the Congress Unit.
